I recently had an email exchange with the Carrd founder, AJ, who pointed out a beta feature that I think is a game-changer in Carrd.
You can copy and paste elements between different sites, including their styling and content. This will surely 10x creation in Carrd, especially with template building, and even encourage more freelancers and agencies to use it.
It’s called cross-tab copy/paste, and is listed under the Keyboard Shortcuts.
However, note that it is a beta feature and so there are some limitations to bear in mind, and some tips get it to work properly.
How to copy and paste between sites in Carrd
The feature works a little differently than than it sounds, so here are some tips you can follow:
You can only copy/paste individual elements at the moment, not Containers. It also won’t copy the contents of Image and Video elements.
To use the feature, open the two sites you want to copy/paste between in separate browser tabs – both sites must to be open in Editing mode.
Place your cursor over the element to copy (don’t select) then use the shortcut CmdShiftC. You should then see a dotted red line around the element.
Go to your other site, and place your cursor over the element where you want to paste your copied element after. Use the shortcut CmdShiftV to paste.
That’s it – quite simple, if you follow these tips.

Final note: this feature also works within the same site, for copy/paste.
